May 30 Blog Post Ready Player One
I think that Ernest Cline wrote the book Ready Player One for a number of reasons. The first reason is to entertain the reader with an action packed story of a teen's quest to become rich. He does a really good job of this because he adds a lot of references that a teen might understand because they have to do with video games.
The second reason is to warn the world about the future and what is to come if we continue down the road of mind-numbing technology. This book takes place in the future when a virtual world has been created to take the place of the real one, which is much worse. In this fake world, people are safe. They can't see the people starving in the real world. They can't see the violence and crime that takes place in the real world. If we keep neglecting Earth, our world will become so polluted and populated that we will have no escape but a fake one. I think that what happens in Ready Player One could definitely happen to us, so it teaches us an important lesson.

I absolutely love books that I can connect to. It allows me to be in the shoes of the main character and helps me imagine myself in action-filled stories. Overall I would love to get in the shoes of this character, and I look forward to reading this book. Thanks for a great recommendation.
